She Became the Fire

Tied down by her confining mind,
She struggled to break free
Of the illusionary shackles
With words as deep as the ocean

Lost in the depths of her unfathomable heart,
She wanted to play hide and seek
Sometimes found, sometimes lost
For, a woman of contradictions was she

She met with hurdles aplenty
Some tall and some wide,
But she crossed them with
A spirit made of invincible hope

The heart she wore on her sleeve
Often suffered a burn
But she emerged from it
And became the fire instead
